  • Account Information: Email address and password (encrypted) when you register, or Apple ID identifier if you use Sign In with Apple.
  • Decision Data: The decisions you log, including descriptions, options, chosen outcomes, categories, notes, and outcome ratings.
  • Personal Values: Your values, importance weights, and optional context descriptions you provide to personalize your experience.
  • Profile Information: Any additional profile information you choose to provide.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Data: App feature usage, interaction patterns, and performance data.
  • Log Data: Error logs, crash reports, and diagnostic information.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Apple: If you use Sign In with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address.
  • Payment Providers: Subscription status and transaction identifiers from Apple and our payment processing partners (we do not receive or store your payment card details).

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Contract Performance: Processing necessary to provide you with the App and its features.

  • Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For secure data storage, database management, and user authentication. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • AI Service Providers: To power our decision analysis features. Your decision content is processed to generate personalized insights but is not stored by these providers or used to train AI models.
  • Payment Processing Providers: For subscription and payment management. They receive transaction identifiers but not your payment card details, which are handled directly by Apple.

7. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Row Level Security (RLS) ensuring users can only access their own data
  • Secure password hashing using industry-standard algorithms
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer your data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information in compliance with applicable laws.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specifically:

  • Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.
  • Decision Data: Retained until you delete individual decisions or your account.
  • Usage Logs: Retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes.
  • Backup Data: May be retained for up to 30 days after deletion for disaster recovery.

We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements.

10. Your Rights and Choices

10.1 All Users

  • Access: Export all your data from the Settings screen in the App.
  • Correction: Edit your decisions, values, and profile information at any time.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen.
  • Notifications: Manage notification preferences in the App settings.

10.2 EEA, UK, and Swiss Residents (GDPR)

You have additional rights under GDPR:

  • Right to access your personal data
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restrict processing

10.3 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulatory authorities as required by law. Notification will be provided via email and/or in-app notification within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, where feasible.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice, such as an in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
